Married Dora Stewart (1863-1888) and they had at least two children - Eldridge Hardeman (1884-1958) and Joseph Etheridge (1882-1931). Married Mary Jane Vann (1870-1937) on 18 Jan 1893 in Freestone County, Texas and they had seven children - Thomas Elvin (1893-1973), Oma Mae (1895-1988), James Jackson (1897-1985), Pearl O (1901-1937), Nathan Edward (1903-1984), William Lee (1907-1999), and Travis H (1910-1991). According to his Texas Death Certificate #7975, the doctors officially called his death on the 25th of Feb. He was last seen alive on the 22nd. This would account for why his headstone states 23rd of Feb. He was buried on the 25th of Feb.
