Athens - Funeral services for J. T. (Tom) Cobb, 93, Athens Nursing Home, who died Thursday at a local hospital, were Saturday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Athens Cemetery. Survivors included three daughters, Mrs. Bertha LeCroix of Decatur, Mrs. Callie Russell of Moulton and Mrs. Mary Lizzie Key of Athens; four sons, Bob Cobb of Athens, Bill Cobb, Walter Cobb, both of Decatur, and Henry D. Cobb of Frankfort, Ind.; 41 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Cobb was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. (Published Decatur Daily, Sunday, March 9, 1969) Children: Bertha Odell Cobb LeCroix (1898-1996) Hallie Laverne Cobb (1900-1902) Andrew Jackson Cobb (1902-1909) Robert Lee (Bob) Cobb (1905-1995) Callie Cornelia Cobb Russell (1907-1988) Mary Lizzie Cobb Key (1909-2006) William Cecil (Bill) Cobb (1912-1983) Tyrus (Tye) Cobb (1915-1966) Walter Thomas Cobb (1917-1988) Henry Densmore Cobb (1920-1986) Their last child, Henry D. Cobb married Thelma Christopher on Jan. 18, 1941. Henry D. Cobb, 65, Moulton, died Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Moulton Nursing Home. No memorial has been set and his body has been donated to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for anatomical research. Elliott Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Sonja Cobb and B. J. Cobb; one son, Dennis Cobb; three sisters, Bertha LeCroix, Mary Lizzie Key and Callie Russell; two brothers, bob Cobb and Walter Cobb; and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Cobb was a native of Limestone County and was a veteran of World War II.
