Hugo Otto, Jr. was the son of Hugo Otto, Sr. and Emma Bode Otto. Hugo Daniel Otto was baptized April 4, 1937, by Pastor A. Dettmann at St. Paul's Evangelical & Reformed Church in Gerald, Texas. His baptismal sponsors were Willie Otto and Lydia Grudziecki. Hugo Otto, Jr., was confirmed April 2, 1950, at St. Paul's Evangelical & Reformed Church (now St. Paul's United Church of Christ) in Gerald, Texas. He married Dolores Straten on February 8, 1958, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, McLennan County, Texas. Hugo and Dolores were married 29 years at the time of Hugo's death. ***************************************************************************** OBITUARY FROM THE WACO TRIBUNE HERALD, March 20, 1987: Hugo Otto, Jr. WEST -- Hugo Otto, Jr., 50, of Route 2, West, died Wednesday afternoon at a Waco hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. today at St. Paul's United Church in Gerald, the Rev. Frank Horak officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours. Pallbearers will be Duane Podsednik, Robert Mynarcik, Jimmy Stuckly, Frank Grudziecki, Orvel Bode and Douglas Heitmiller. Mr. Otto was born Nov. 25, 1936, in Gerald. He was married to Dolores Mary Straten Feb. 8, 1958, in West. He was employed by Owens-Illinois for 23 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church in Gerald. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Emma Otto of West; two sons, Michael Wayne Otto of Temple and David Allen Otto of Killeen; two daughters, Mrs. Clifton (Lynette) Payne of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Kenny (Janet) Chudej of Elm Mott; a sister, Mrs. Charlene Heitmiller of West; and five grandchildren. Aderhold Funeral Home of West is in charge of arrangements.
