Virginia Louise Page, 90, formerly of Amarillo passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011, at Grace Presbyterian Village in Dallas. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011, at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Mantooth officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Page was born in Burkburnett on Sept. 19, 1920, to George H. and Simmie Vann Measley. She moved to vicinity of the Gulf Oil Camp near Borger in 1926. She graduated from Panhandle High School, Amarillo College and West Texas State Teachers College. Mrs. Page taught fifth-grade in Happy and Borger and was a substitute teacher in Amarillo. She married Eugene D. Page on June 30, 1946. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. She was a Charter Member of Temple Baptist Church since June 15, 1947 and taught Sunday school for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Lee Page; her parents, George and Simmie Measley of Borger; and brothers, George Jr. and Charles Measley. Survivors include her husband, Eugene D. Page, who is retired from Santa Fe Railroad now living in Dallas; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Suzy Page living in Duncanville; grandchildren, Ross Page, Sandelynn Davis, and Jon Carson; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
