Bio
Charles Randolph Vopalensky, 84 yrs, of North Bend, NE, passed away November 17, 2025, at Nye Legacy in Fremont. Charles was born September 23, 1941, in Morse Bluff, NE, to Albert and Clara (Novak) Vopalensky. He graduated from North Bend High School in 1959 and attended Midland College in Fremont. He married Janice Lantefield on December 28, 1962, at St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church. Charles served in the US Air Force. He moved into North Bend and worked for Weldon Industries. In 1976, he bought a welding shop, Vopalensky Welding, where he owned and operated the business until he retired in 2007. He farmed throughout his life. Charles was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend. He was a member of the America Legion in Morse Bluff, NE. and the North Bend Volunteer Fire Dept for 7 years. Charles is survived by his wife, Jan of North Bend; daughters, Sheri (Gregg) Jablonski of Lincoln, NE, Juli (John) Paloucek of Ogallala, NE, and Vicki Vopalensky (Rich Nolte) of Lincoln; brother, Albert Vopalensky of Fremont; and 8 grandchildren, Jessica Grossnicklaus, Jacklyn Jablonski, Sami Vrbka, Jenna Cleveland, Lucas Paloucek, Austin Jablonski, Chas Nolte, and Scott Nolte; and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Dorothy Mines. The memorial service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend, NE. The memorial visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. The burial with military honors will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.
