At his late home on Houston Street in Athens last Sunday, Mr. Robert Henry Noblitt, one of the most popular men of Athens, died after an illness that has been prolonged for more than a year. He was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on October 5, 1875, and was in his fifty-sixth year. He had made Athens his home for several years and had a wide circle of friends here who are grieved at his passing. He is survived by his widow, Cassie Knight Noblitt; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas P. Smith of Athens, and Mrs. Marvin Bullington of Harris; and one son, Thomas Noblitt, who resided with his parents. Several brothers and sisters also survive him. The funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Christian Church of which he had been a loyal and true member for many years, Elder Creel officiating, with burial in the Athens City Cemetery, McConnell in charge of arrangements.
