Veldean Littlejohn, 77, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008, in Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2008, at the First Baptist Church with Revs. Donny Harbers and James Clawson officiating. Burial will be in Snyder Cemetery, directed by Adams Funeral Home. Born February 16, 1931, in Snyder, Veldean was the daughter of the late Earl and Artie (Evans) Davis. She attended school in rural Scurry County, and married Joe Littlejohn December 8, 1977, in Abilene. They moved to Hamlin in 1982 from Odessa. Veldean was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamlin, where she volunteered on the kitchen committee. She was preceded in death by her husband (Joe Littlejohn, May 29, 1997), one daughter (Lona Carlton), one brother (Duane Davis) and one son-in-law (Johnny Hooks). Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Norma and James Perkins of Borger; one son-in-law, Marty Carlton of Midland; her companion and best friend, Jessie Junior Stanford, of Hamlin; four grandchildren, Lane Parker, Bryan Carlton, Robin and Lisa Parker, and Le Andra Carlton; four great grandchildren, Sawyer, Chloe, Emmaly, and Ian; extended family, Charles Zane and Sharon Stanford and family, Casey and Shannon Wester and daughter, Hanna, Greg and Angela Stanford, and children, Spencer and Sterling, Michael and Melanie Murphy, and daughter, Madison; Kenneth and Sandra Gruben and family, Kendra Gruben, Kendon and Kursten Gruben, and son, Ian, Kendi Gruben; Jerry and Carla Olney and family, Bronc and Michelle Jones, and son, Cade, Don and Jebby Clawson, and children, Cashley and Callan; James and Carolyn Clawson and family, J. J. and Tammy Clawson, and children, Jakob, Alyssa, Jessica, and Caitlyn, and James Alan and Lacey Clawson.
