Alyce Ann Zulkoski, age 92, of North Platte, departed this life on November 12, 2025 at Great Plains Health. Alyce Ann was born April 9, 1933 in Valley County to Casimir James and Anna Catherine Zulkoski. After graduating from Sargent High School, she attended Duchesne College and Creighton University in Omaha, graduating from St. Francis School of Nursing, Grand Island. Later while working full time, she received her Bachelor of Science and Master's Degree in Education from Kearney State College. After working briefly in the Sargent Community Hospital, she worked 38 years in the North Platte hospitals. She worked 20 years as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She then spent the next 18 years in a new career as Education Director at the Medical Center. Alyce Ann had an avid interest in history, geography, reading and traveling. She traveled abroad many times touring much of Europe, the Middle East, Northern Russia, Baltic States, the Scandinavian countries and the British Isles. She took great delight in her flower beds, developing them through the years and enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends. A daughter, Rachael Ann (Shelley) was born to Alyce and Merritt LaVonne Owen, MD, their only child. Alyce's greatest joys were her daughter, her son-in-law, her four grandchildren and her eight great grandchildren. Because of them she wrote a memory book titled "Forever Spring". She detailed her grade school days, her early life on the farm with her parents and brother. She wanted them to share in her memories of by-gone days when families worked, played and prayed together to survive during poor times. She was pleasantly surprised when family and friends across the country purchased her book, wanting to recall their own memories of that era. Alyce was baptized into the Catholic faith at birth and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She has been a Eucharist Minister for many years and assisted with Pastoral Ministry to the homebound and the hospital. Much of her volunteering was through the church. She did enjoy some volunteer work in the community, serving on committees for the new NP High School, the Library, helped with St. Patrick's Food Pantry. Recently, she and her daughter Rachel composed the "Blessed Memory Book" detailing the origin and demolition of the old McDaid School. Survivors include her daughter, Rachael (Shelley) and husband Daniel Moser of Lincoln; her four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and their families. Alyce was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Peter and Anna Zulkoski, Frank and Emma Valasek; brother Gerald and sister-in-law Regina Zulkoski; niece, Angie Zulkoski; Special friends, Bob and Margaret Rea. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Reverend Jonathan Sorensen as Celebrant. Rosary will be held at 10:30 before the Mass. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
