Services for Daisy Bechtel, 95 of Earlham Care Center, who died Feb. 8, were held Monday Feb. 13 at Chamberlain-Fisher Funeral Home in Adel with burial at the Earlham Cemetery. She was born Sept. 20, 1888. She and her husband John lived in Earlham for many years and operated the Earlham Café up until 1940, at which time they moved to Des Moines. She was a member of the Friends Church in Earlham. She is survived by two step-daughters, Beatrice Carlson of Madrid and Byna Woods of Waukee; a step-son, Victor Bechtel of Grand Ledge, Mich.; a grandson; and 10 step-grandchildren. –Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa, February 15, 1984
