Marvin Pelt, 88, passed away on June 4, 2011. He was born on December 22, 1922 to the late Frank Pelt and Mary Ellen Coody Pelt. Marvin was a truck driver at Fort Polk, La for 10 years and then went on to work at Calcasieu Paper Company at Elizabeth, LA for 13 ½ years as a dragline operator. In 1961 he began business with his wife where they owned and operated a trailer park, he retired in 1996. He was a friend to everyone and loved his family very much. He has left behind his wife of 63 years and 11 months, Tressie Bass Pelt; Two Sons: David Pelt and wife Myrtle of Cravens, LA, and Roger Pelt and wife Linda of Cravens, La; Four Grandchildren: Nickie Pelt, Shonda Pelt Hillman, Brandon Pelt, and Trenda Pelt; Two Great Grandchildren: Gregory Hillman and Emily Hillman, all of Cravens, LA. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Pelt. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Kenny Lowrey officiated and obituary read by Rev. Gregory Hillman. Burial followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.
