Infantry, CSA 1861 _HAIR: Red, freckle-faced Note: Joseph was red headed and freckle faced according to family. He served during the Civil War as Private Company E, 11th La. Infantry. He enlisted on July 7, 1861 at Camp Moore, Louisiana, appointed a commissary Sgt. on August 10, 1861 and wounded and captured November 7, 1863, at Battle of Wilderness, Rappahannock, Va. He was imprisoned at Point Lookout, Md and paroled at the end of the war and discharged at Monroe, La.. Father: Joseph W.
