Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Hilbers, age 88, of Scotland, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Wichita Falls. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Scotland with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Churches, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Betty was born November 4, 1936 in Seymour, Texas to the late Frank Coufal and Mary Hajek Coufal. She and Bernard Hilbers were married January 19, 1968 in Scotland. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2021. After graduation, Betty earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught school at Crocket Elementary School in Wichita Falls and then Archer City Elementary for thirty years. Betty was an artist who enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, cake decorating and floral decorations. She loved her animals and taking care of her yard. She traveled to all countries throughout the world and learned to really appreciate her own country. Betty was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Society. Survivors include daughter, Anna Hilbers Berend and husband, Terry of Scotland; daughter-in-law, Veda Hilbers of Seymour; brother-in-law, Albert Hilbers of Scotland; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Steven Hilbers; grandsons, Brandon Hilbera and Landon Berend; brother, Franklin Coufal and sisters-in-law, Marie Teichman, Dorothy McDonald and Bernice Hoegger. The family would like to thank the staff at Rolling Meadows, The Pines and Hospice of Wichita Falls for all the care and love that they gave Betty.
