Bio

Dixie Collings DECEMBER 19, 1945 – OCTOBER 12, 2025 In Loving Memory of Dixie Ann Bowles Collings Our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, and dear friend, Dixie Ann Bowles Collings, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most. Dixie was born on December 19, 1945, in Murray, Utah, to Grafton and Janice Hansen Bowles. She was raised in Midvale, Utah, alongside her cherished siblings, Bill Bowles and Sharon Bowles Tischner. A proud graduate of Hillcrest High School, Dixie later attended business school and was honored as first runner-up in the Miss Midvale Pageant. In early 1967, Dixie met the love of her life, Francis Kit Collings, while cruising down State Street in Salt Lake City. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on November 30 of that same year and built a beautiful life together in West Valley City, raising three children in a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Affectionately known to many as Trixie, Dixie was vibrant, outgoing, and endlessly kind. Her warmth and compassion knew no bounds, and she welcomed everyone with open arms. A talented crocheter, she lovingly crafted blankets, doll dresses, and treasured keepsakes for family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family and the loving home she and Kit created—an enduring legacy of devotion, joy, and love. Dixie is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Kit Collings; her children, Tammy Corrigan (Frankie) and Kyle Collings (Sara); and her beloved grandchildren: Harli Collings, Bentlee Ivie, Rev Collings, and Axel Corrigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest son, Daniel Kirt Collings. Dixie will be laid to rest beside her precious Kirt. Funeral services will be held over two days: • Wednesday, October 22, 2025: Viewing from 10:00–11:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home (4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah). • Thursday, October 23, 2025: A celebration of Dixie's life will be held from 6:00–9:00 p.m. at Wildflower Events (10257 South 1300 East, Sandy, Utah). Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served. As Dixie would say, "Everyone is welcome." Dixie's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in all who were blessed to know her. Mom…we love you more, more, more! WEDNESDAY,OCTOBER 22, 2025 Graveside 12:00 pm VALLEY VIEW MEMORIAL PARK 4400 West 4100 South West Valley City, Utah 84120
