Son of William J. and Alpha Fore Osteen. Came to Texas with his family at about the age of three. Married in Denton or Wise County, Texas. Had two children by his first wife before being divorced in Denton County about 1877. Married Martha Ann Bevill on Jan 9, 1881 in Bastrop County, Texas. On July 1916 Roster by Rev John Dunbar.
