Harold Ray Taylor, age 84, of Madison, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 23, 2024, at his home. Harold was born on May 6, 1940, in Higbee, MO, to James G. and Christina (Ballentine) Taylor. He graduated from Higbee School. He married Barbara Gravitt on September 1, 1962, in Moberly, MO. Harold was a great husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, visiting people, and puttering around Moberly in the truck with momma. He demonstrated and instilled in his family strong family values and an outstanding work-ethic. Harold always had a smile or a wave--no one was a stranger to him! He always loved to be around kids and not just in his older age. His family and friends will always remember him for his smile, his big, beautiful generous heart, and his hard-work ethic. He is preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Christina Taylor; wife, Barbara; brothers James (Buddy) and Charles Taylor; sisters Peggy and Elizabeth; infant grandchildren Brian Taylor, Tamara Eskew and Cody Sinclair. Harold is survived by his children Harold J. (Teresa) Taylor, of Higbee, MO, Carl (Donna) Taylor, of Moberly, MO, Christina Taylor, of Festus, MO, Loretta (Larry) Hornbarger, of Madison, MO, and Matthew (Amanda) Taylor, of Madison, MO.
