Jim Murphy, 66 of Kearney passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. "Jim" Murphy was born May 14, 1957 in Kearney, Nebraska to Charles and M. Barbara Murphy. He is survived by 11 siblings, Tom Murphy of Kihei, HI, Charlene (Bruce) Moats of Kearney, Ed (Vera) Murphy of Nevada, MO, Mary Dady of San Antonio, Jane (Brian) Moody of Kearney, Patrick (Veronica) Murphy of Kearney, Marty Murphy of Denver, C0, Kate Murphy of Kearney, Mike (Sandi) Murphy of Belleville, NJ, Joe (Aiko) Murphy of Chandler, AZ and Sheila Murphy of Elm Creek; his close friends, Leroy Hoss, Carl Sinsel and Jerry and Rita Rodriquez; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Paul Murphy; nephew, Jackson Murphy.
