Raymond "Doc" Stoffle November 24, 1932 - September 11, 2025 Raymond "Doc" Stoffle Obituary Raymond Smith Stoffle, affectionately known to his 16 grands and greats as Papaw " Doc," finished his earthly race of 92 years on September 11, 2025. He was predeceased by parents James and Velma Stoffle, and siblings James Albert, Mel, Edna (Thomas), Carl and Frank. Raymond is survived by sons Bobby (Pam), Samuel (Cindy) and Timothy, who was Daddy's primary caregiver during his final years; grandsons: Jacob (Rachael), Seth (Lauren), Daniel (Emily), Caleb (Shawnee) and Nikita Stoffle; granddaughters: Kristi (Keith) Crowe and Sarah (Hayden) Kurtz; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Beren, Bentley, Emma, Raylan, Elisabeth, Delilah, Jordan and Nathan; nieces and nephews: Janice, Larry, Carla, Billie Jo, Rita, Faye, Tracy, and Melvin, Jr.; and special friend Elizabeth Castle. Doc was born at home (1932) in Oak City, where he grew up, graduating from SCHS (1952), serving in the USAF as an aviation engine mechanic during the Korean War and working 50+ years as an auto mechanic extraordinaire, including 38 years at Delmar Haynes. He was a faithful member, choir director and deacon at Dupont Baptist Church for over 25 years and at his death was a longtime member of Providence Baptist Church. Raymond loved and was beloved by his family and friends. Pallbearers: grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers: Larry Stoffle, Melvin Stoffle, Jr. and Ed Cowan. Services at Atchley's in Seymour. Visitation is Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 5:00 – 7:00PM, followed by service at 7:00; Reverends Seth Stoffle and Greg Wolfe, officiating.
