SHELBYVILLE DEMOCRATE 10/27/1923 Edward Sarver of Hinton passed away and had resided in county about forty years and was well known farmer. He came to Shelby county with his parents when a small child and had resided near Hinton since that time. Funeral services at Hinton Sunday morning. He passed at his home one half mile east of Hinton at 11:50, Friday morning, after an illness of about three weeks. Mr. Sarver had been in failing health for some time but was confined to his bed only the past three week. Mr.Sarver was a son of Jermiah A. and Callie N.Breedlove Sarver and was born in Warren county, Ky. on June 26, 1870, being fifty three years of age at the time of death. He came to Illinois with his parents when a small child, settling in Effingham county where they lived for two years. They then came to Shelby county locating in the northwest part of the county where the family has since resided. When Mr. Sarver was twenty four years old he was united in Marriage to Minnie Downs. To this union were born ten children, seven of whom are living. The children are Charles,Edgar Sarver of Decatur, Mrs. Pearl Small of Hinton,Mrs.Ollie Burke of Pana and Alta Sarver,Dorothy Sarver, Russell Sarver and Velma Sarver at home. Leroy Sarver and Willie Sarver are deceased. Besides his mother,wife and children Mr.Sarver leaves three brothers,Thomas R.Sarver of Bakerfields, Calif.,W. R. Sarver of Assumption and Alonzo Sarver of Chenoa, Ill. Mr. Sarver had engaged in farming all his life and was well and favorably known in Shelby and Christian counties where he had business dealings.
