Georgia LaRue Whitt February 18, 1938 - August 22, 2025 Georgia Whitt, formerly of Emory and Terrell and lately of Flint, passed away on Aug. 22, 2025 in Tyler. Georgia was born Feb. 18, 1938 in Emory, TX to Loyd and Imogene Luckett, both of whom welcomed her into Heaven along with her sister, Pauline Luckett. Growing up and living in small towns helped Georgia to always have a heart to help others. She graduated in 1955 from Rains High School and then received her license to become a LVN, a calling that was truly suited to Georgia's kind and compassionate personality. She began her career at Terrell State Hospital and was a dedicated employee for 20 years until retirement. Always one to stay busy, Georgia then went to work as a nurse with Terrell ISD and the many students, teachers, parents and administrators came to rely on her daily for her care given to each of them for 15 years. When not at work, Georgia enjoyed activities with her family and friends including fishing, sewing, going to garage sales to find 'treasures' and making precious memories with her beloved family members and friends as well as being active in the Rocky Point Community Center in Emory for many years. Georgia is survived by her husband, Geoffrey Whitt; sons: Matthew Whitt and wife, Natalee, James Whitt and wife, Felicia; grandsons: Simeon Lee Whitt, Asa Loyd Whitt and Luke Alistair Whitt as well as other extended family and countless friends. Funeral Service will be 10:00am, Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Dunbar Cemetery in Emory, TX. Pallbearers will be Brian Luckett, Brandon Luckett, Bryson Davis, Jerry Stone, Gary Stone and Dalton Pearson. Georgia's family will receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday, August 29, at the funeral home.
