Bio
Sarah was the first child born to Francis Marion Hastings and Harriet Irby. She was raised in Dade County, MO before her family came to Titus County, Texas after the civil war. She met James Allen Jones from Bath Co, KY. On the 10th of January 1867, they married in Titus County. She and James had six children; James died the 30th of December 1876. Her death certificate states she was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Her body was brought back to Franklin County Texas. She is buried in unmarked grave in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with her husband. Sophia Arminta "Minta" Jones McLaren 1868 - 1941, married James Jones born 1869 - died before 1880 Charlie Joe Jones 1870 Titus Co - 1947 Kaufman Co, married in Franklin Co in 1905 to Vida Della Jones Jennie Jones 1873 Titus Co - died before 1900 and found no record of marriage Hattie Allen Jones Irby 1876 Mt. Vernon, Franklin Co - 1958 Nashville, Davidson Co, TN. Married Edgar Reese Irby. Hattie ordered her father's Civil War headstone in 1953.
