LUFKIN, Texas, Aug. 7. -- Services were held Monday in the First Methodist Church for Mrs. J. S. Cochran, 77, wife of Justice of the Peace J. S. Cochran, who died at her home following a long illness. The Rev. Mouzon Bass officiated, with interment in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Earl Cochran of Houston and Dave Cochran of San Antonio; two daughters, Mrs. John Cook of Lufkin and Miss Lois Cochran of Lufkin; two brothers, S. L. Shofner of Edmond, Okla., and James P. Shofner of Rogers, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. L. A. Anderson of Lufkin, Mrs. John R. Smith of Durant, Okla., and Mrs. Howard Boydstrum of Blue, Okla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
