Services for James David Jirasek, 86, of Troy will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple with Tim Weddle officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Mr. Jirasek died Saturday, July 12, at a local nursing home. He was born Aug. 27, 1938, in Temple to Henek Dublaslau Jirasek and Sadie Josephine Jirasek. He was a lifelong Temple resident. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force for many years. He attended the Assembly of God. He worked as an appliance technician and inventor. He married Linda Jirasek in Huntsville on Aug. 20, 2004. Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Jirasek, Darrell Jirasek and Randy Jirasek; two daughters, June Leavy and Julie Boring; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home Temple Daily Telegram. Thursday, July 17, 2025.
