This Jacob Bumgardner is NOT the Jacob Bumgardner (1795-1875) who married Edith Davisson abt. 1828, and migrated from Virginia to Massac County, Illinois and Lawrence County Ohio. Some internet trees and also a Find-A-Grave memorial have combined them both into a single person without looking at the records and overlapping births of children in different states that clearly show them as separate persons. This Jacob Bumgardner's parentage has not yet been established. He appears to have been married twice; first to Rebecca Patterson on April 1812 in Augusta County, Virginia, and second to Margaret "Peggy" Moyer on 4 May 1818 in Wythe County, Virginia. He migrated to Blount County, Tennessee by 1860, and died sometime between 1860-1870, likely also in the Blount County, Tennessee area.
