obituary: Decatur Review – Nov 10, 1913 page 11 column 4 VOTED 10 TIMES FOR PRESIDENT John Dixon, 94, Dead At Lovington. Lovington, Nov. 10—John Dixon, ninety-four, who bore this unique record of having voted in nineteen presidential elections, beginning with William Henry Harrison in 1840, died at 8 o'clock this morning at the home of his son, J. R. Dixon, one and one-half miles south of Lovington. Mr. Dixon was a lifelong Democrat and a prosperous farmer. He had lived in this vicinity since 1868, coming here from Ohio, where he was born in 1819. He is survived by two sons and three daughters. The funeral will be held some time Wednesday, at an hour to be announced later. Decatur Review – Nov 13, 1913 page 11 column 2 FUNERAL OF JOHN DIXON SR The funeral of John Dixon Sr was held at the home of his son Riley Dixon two miles south of town Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. The services were conducted by Rev. T. A. Awams of the Methodist Church assisted by Rev. C. C. Hill of the Christian church. The pall bearers were A Kinzel, S. P. Drake, Henry Dawson, Robert Selby, Joe Foster and W. N. Lewis. Interment wa sin Lovington cemetery south of town.
