Clarence Elwood Edmonds Clarence Elwood Edmonds, age 94 September 18, 1930 – June 8, 2025 Clarence Elwood Edmonds, 94, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born September 18, 1930, in Cameron, Texas, Clarence was the son of: Connie Brice Edmonds and Cora Walston He spent nearly all of his life in the Dayton/Liberty area, apart from the time he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Clarence worked as a pipeline laborer, a job that reflected the strength, dedication, and work ethic he carried throughout his life. A man of the Baptist faith, he found joy and peace in the outdoors—especially on the riverbank with a fishing pole in hand. Whether he was camping under the stars or casting a line, nature was his sanctuary. Affectionately known to many as "Paw Paw," Clarence was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandson David, with whom he shared a close bond. His home was filled with laughter, stories, and the sounds of westerns and wrestling matches on TV—two of his favorite pastimes. Clarence was preceded in death by his: wife: Ruby Lee Edmonds; parents; daughters-in-law: Cassie Edmonds and Anne Edmonds; son-in-law: Richard Scott; grandchild: Kevin Edmonds; great-grandchild: MacKenzie Edmonds; and siblings: Opal Lee, Lucille Fregia, Earnest Edmonds, Frank Edmonds, Alvin Edmonds, Buddy Edmonds, Lee (Ruth) Edmonds, and Roy Edmonds survived by his: son: Clarence Connie Edmonds; daughter: Gail Scott; grandchildren: David Edmonds and fiancée Stacy Humbird, Jessica Edmonds and fiancé Kyle Jordan, William Edmonds, and Robert Edmonds; and great-grandchildren: Desiree, AaLiyah, Trinity, Journey, Renley, Kohen, Hunter, Dixie, and Harley He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. At this time, no services are planned. Clarence's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and in every quiet riverbank where the fish still bite.
