Bio
Joseph Rudolph Nagy went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2025. He was four days shy of his 92nd birthday. Joe served in the United States Air Force as Staff Sergeant from 1953 to 1961 and was honored as Airman of the Month. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Rhone Funeral Home, Palestine, Texas. A private family interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Cryer Creek Cemetery in Cryer Creek, Texas. If you knew Joe, you knew he was a man of profound faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will be remembered as a man of honor and integrity who sought to honor God in all he did. Joe was born on June 22, 1933, in Corsicana, Texas to Joseph John Nagy and Helen Annie Toth Nagy. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Lou Arnett Nagy; sister Linda Nagy Stephens; daughters Paula Nagy Thompson and husband Scott Thompson, Patti Nagy Hill and husband Randy Hill, and Lia Nagy Buchanan; grandchildren Meredith and Michael Grabham, Brooke Hill, Michael and Chanelle Hill, Mitze and Geovanni Balladares, Max Buchanan, Olivia Buchanan, Lexis and Brian Wofford, and Christian Buchanan; eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph John Nagy and Helen Annie Toth Nagy, and sister JoAnn Nagy McNabb. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Grabham, Michael Hill, Max Buchanan, Christian Buchanan, Brian Wofford, Joseph Stephens, and Brent Bing. Special thanks to Solaris Hospice, especially Jennifer and Barbara, whom he truly loved. Graveside services for Joseph Rudolph Nagy are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
