Jeff was the beloved son of Jerome and Merna (Brase) Didier, born in Tacoma, WA on April 9, 1954. Shortly after Jeff was born, the family moved back to Bellwood, NE where they planted family roots and created a legacy of the family grocery store, Didier's Grocery. Jeff attended Bellwood Elementary School where he was proud to be a Bellwood Bomber. He then went to Aquinas Catholic High School where he graduated in 1972 and met the love of his life, Mary McCawley. He was a star athlete at Aquinas where he enjoyed playing Football, Baseball and Track. He was very fast and he was never ashamed to brag about his speed in his older years. He loved to tell the grandkids about his home run records! He went on to further his education at Platte College and University of Nebraska Omaha where he studied Marketing. Jeff and Mary were married on April 16, 1977 where they began their life together and moved to Kansas City for Jeff to work at Dial/Armor. After three years, he moved back to Schuyler to carry on the Didier's Grocery business and work for 35 years. In the midst of his heavy working lifestyle they had three children in Schuyler, NE. While in Schuyler, he served on a number of boards and committees in the community: Knights of Columbus, Schuyler Fire Department, Ducks Unlimited, Schuyler Community Hospital Foundation to name a few. Jeff had friends everywhere he went. If you were in a hurry to grocery shop, it was best to avoid Jeff in the store because you were guaranteed to get a dirty joke or a story you would never forget. Jeff enjoyed any and every concert with their friends. You can always find him wearing his band shirt, knowing the words to every song and the history that went along with the bands and their lyrics. Some other favorites of his were driving the country side 'checking on things' and then going to the store to greet each and every employee with a smile. He had a love for hunting, fishing, playing cards, solitaire and any grandkid sporting events he could get to. Whether it was a grandkid or just a fellow teammate of theirs he had some great advice for them from the bleachers! Jeff had a passion for all Husker Sports, KC Royals and the KC Chiefs. If there was a chance to go to a game or bid on some tickets at a fundraiser, he was there! Jeff is survived by his loving wife Mary (McCawley) Didier, his children – Kristin Nelson, Clint (Amy) Didier, Clay (Adrianne) Didier, his grandchildren Cody (Carolyn) Nelson, Griffin Nelson, Everett Nelson, Bennett Nelson, Emmarie Nelson, Hunter Didier, Hadley Didier, Harper Didier, Luke Didier, Leah Didier and first great grandchild due in November and one brother, Tony Didier. Jeff is preceded in death by parents, Jerome & Merna Didier, In-laws, Thomas and Delores McCawley, Sister Luann, young sister Cindy and Son-In-Law Scott Nelson.
