A resident of Pinetucky, Perry Co, Al, in childhood. MAUDIE O JONES 01 Jun 1877 15 Mar 1969 (V) 79241 (Lockney, Floyd, TX Texas Flomot Rites Held for Mrs. Jones Funeral services for Mrs. Ola Jones, 91, of Flomot were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Flomot Methodist Church. Earl Cantwell, minister of the Rock Creek Church of Christ near Silverton, offciated, assisted by Jeff Browning ofFlomot, a Church of Christ member. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Flomot, with Seigler Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Jone, one of the oldest and few remaining pioneers of Motley County, died Thursday night at Nichols Manor Nursing Home in Lockney after a long illness. She had been a resident patient there about 3 ½ years. She was born Ola Williams, June 1, 1877, in Selma, Alabama, and was married to Benjamin J. Jones. May 10, 1896, in Salem Arkansas (incorrect, married in Allen, Seminole Co, Choctaw Nation. I.T.) They made their home in Oklahoma until 1915 when they moved to Flomot Community. Mr. Jones preceded his wife in death, January 15, 1848. She was also preceded by two sons, Clive, who died in 1955 and C. B. (Casey) Jones, who passed away in 1966. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Flomot Church of Christ. At her death on March 5, she had attained the age of 91 years, 9 months and 5 days. Survivors include four sons, John and C.C. Jones, both of Flomot, Ewell Jones of Kress and J.D. Jones of Amarillo; one daughter, Mrs. Winnie Elton of Wichita Falls; a brother, Jim Williams of Atoka, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Evie Rice of Dallas and Mrs. Fannie Samples of Huntsville; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons: Ralph Jones, M.C. Jones, Bennie Jones, Larry Bynum, Joel Jones, and LeRoy Elton.
