Minnie Gruben Roby - Minnie Gruben, 85, of Brownfield, a former long-time resident of Fisher County, died at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Weathersbee Funeral Home. The Rev. Buddy Sipe, pastor of First Baptist Church in Cisco, will officiate. Burial will be in Longworth Cemetery. Born Aug. 20, 1899 in Guion, Ark., she moved to the Longworth community in 1905. She married Lonnie McKiney in 1917 and he died Dec. 31, 1937. She later married Epkie Gruben on July 3, 1942 in Roby. Her husband died Aug. 25, 1982 and a granddaughter died in 1972. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Dixie Collum of Brownfield; two step-daughters, Ruth Crouch of Brownfield and DeLois Jenkins of Fort Towson, Okla.; two step-sons, Bill Gruben of Haskell and Claude Gruben of Brownfield; a brother, Noah Sipe of Sweetwater; two sisters, Thessie Patterson of Hamlin and Dovie Brunson of Sweetwater; a grandson; a great-grandson; step-great-grandchildren; and step-great-great-grandchildren.
