William Joseph Martin "Bill" Stehr passed from this life on June 8, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Bill was born on March 19, 1936, on a Thursday, at Brinkman, Oklahoma, to Martin and Hedwig (Gelnar) Stehr. He grew up in Brinkman, married the love of his life Wynia Joyce Smith on July 27, 1957, and raised his family there. Bill spent his entire life in Brinkman. He began his education at Brinkman Public Schools until his Junior year of high school where he attended St. Gregory's High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma. There he became a 3x state champion in football, basketball and baseball. He returned to Brinkman where he graduated in 1955. Bill joined the National Guard Company "B" 45 th Infantry Division, member of the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd degree knight, a Master Carpenter, and co-leader of the Building Committee for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In his childhood, he would chase down jack rabbits and catch them. One time, while bird hunting, he flushed a covey of quail and with a pump shotgun, killed five birds in five shots. Bill enjoyed bird hunting, custom farming, coaching his kids in little league, spending time with his family and friends at cattle shows, treasure hunting, inventing and building innovative projects, he enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed his kids, grandkids and great grandkids sporting events, but he especially enjoyed dancing with the love of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Hedwig Stehr and infant daughter Sherlina Gale Stehr.
