Patrick Lee "Rick" Luft, 60, of Columbus died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at his home. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the McKown Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life with family and friends sharing will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the McKown Funeral Home. Rick was born March 13, 1965 in Grand Island, NE to Melra and Caroline (Enyeart) Luft. Rick received his education from Grand Island and graduated from Alliance High School in 1983. He moved to Columbus first beginning employment with Anderson Auto body. Later being employed with Ernst Auto where he received advanced training in mechanics. For the past 21 years he has worked at Behrle Construction. He was married to Irene Ewing and to this union Iana was born. Rick later married Melanie Klug and to this union Austin, Bailey, and Cassie were born. Years later, to complete the Luft family, Tate was born. On January 31, 2015 Rick married Carrie Ross and gained stepchildren Matt and Mike. Rick was born with racing in his blood. Therefore reflecting his passion for Nascar, four-wheeling and jet skiing...or anything with a motor. May he always be remembered for his want to bring people together, his one of a kind dance moves and his willingness to do for others. Rick is survived by: Wife- Carrie Luft Mother – Caroline and Don O'berg Children – Iana (Kyle) Reed, Austin Klug, Bailey (Noel) Castillo, Cassie (Joseph) Klug, and Tate Luft Grandchildren- (Addison, Greyson, Emerson) (Myra) (Zoey, Leon, Izabella, Alan) Siblings – Heidi (Pick) Evans, Carmel (Jeff) Lowry, Annie (Jim) Luft – Wolfenden Many nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by: Father- Melra Luft Brother- John Luft Grandparents- Lyle and Emma Enyeart. Raymond and Mabel Luft Nephew- Joe Buresh, a.k.a. Joe Cop
