Bio

Our beloved father passed away peacefully on July 13, 2008. Leo was born February 3, 1920 in Mount Carmel, Utah to Hyrum W. and Mabel May Spencer Stevens. His family later moved to American Fork, then in his late teens he moved to Salt Lake City. He married Lucile Rigby in the Salt Lake Temple on Feb. 3, 1944. They lived most of their years in Salt Lake City. Leo worked for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad for 42 years. After retiring in 1981 they built up the property they'd bought in Castle Valley, Utah (near Moab) and eventually moved there permanently. They lived there until his wife's health problems brought him to Layton, Utah in 2000. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survived by daughters Cheryl Galbraith and Tracie (Cal) Kezerian; sons, Brent (Sally), Kim (Becki), Kelly; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, Lucile; daughter, Cara Ann; parents, five brothers and five sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Sat., July 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brighton LDS Chapel, 2925 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South), Cottonwood Heights. A Viewing will nbe held from 12 noon - 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Friends and Family may also call on Fri., July 18, 2008 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy.
