Evelyn Shorter Glenn, 91, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, November 20, 2000. Evelyn was a member of West End Presbyterian Church and was the first president of the Williamson Road W.C.T.U. and was a retired nurses assistant from Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Shorter, her sisters, Ida Craig, Frances Childress and Elizabeth Shorter, and was the widow of Lynwood C. Glenn. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Lynwood Gordon and Mary Ann Glenn of Salem; her daughters and sons-in-law, Jonell G. and Raymond L. Kesler, Shalmir G. and Paul A. Grim, Catherine G. and Jerry L. Brown, all of Roanoke; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel Wednesday, November 22, 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas C. Clay and Dr. Ken Atkins officiating. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park.
