William J. "Bill" Secora, age 83, of Geneva, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025. He was born May 24, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of William and Victoria (Pretrzeba) Secora. Bill lived his life with faith and joy. From a dusty pitcher's mound in Omaha, Bill could serve up a fast pitch to every batter. As a kid, Bill might cruise past on his bike, but never faster than the day an angry dog gave chase. He served on the Safety Patrol and worked in a soda shop near his home. As a young man, Bill served in the United States Army. He worked later on classified projects for the Dept. of Defense at Northrop and within the Main Ring, the particle accelerator, at Fermilab. From a fast pitch on the field to the high speeds of a proton accelerator, Bill could appreciate speed. Breezing down a ski hill on his snowboard, racing in his laser sailboat, or pressing the gas pedal of his 1969 Ford Mustang, Bill loved to feel the wind. He appreciated the wind, like he appreciated so many details of life-- especially the people around him. As a Dad, he shared his joy for the world, in a canoe, at a campfire, or on the racetrack at a Pinewood Derby. Bill's world was his family-- most of all, his wife and best friend, Geri. Together, they enjoyed outdoor concerts in their lawn chairs, from blues to classic country music, and when the walk was too far, they found their best seats on the back porch. Find him on the dance floor, find him stargazing, find him at 4:30 Mass on a Saturday. Bill loved it all. And Bill never missed a chance to marvel at the moon. He is survived by his wife Geri (Kings); children Victoria Secora Agustsson and Lisa (Mike) Secora Faulhaber; grandchildren Chloe and Freya Agustsson and Kyle and Ella Faulhaber; and brother Thomas (Sharon) Secora. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Patricia Gannon Fausett and Marilyn Secora. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 9:00 am until the time of funeral prayers at 10:15 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, for celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Father Sean Grismer Celebrant. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
