Bio

Lavell "Pete" Lee Johnson, 81 years old, of Pitkin, Louisiana, went to heaven on May 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a cherished and loving father, PawPaw, and a faithful friend to many. Pete was a hardworking business owner where he successfully operated his tire shop, used car lot, and various other businesses in Rosepine, La over the last 48 plus years. His hands not only repaired many tires and vehicles, but also shaped the lives of those around him. Pete faithfully served his community as the District 7 Justice of the Peace for 20 plus years. Pete's passion for the cowboy lifestyle reflected his adventurous spirit and love for his animals. He greatly enjoyed vacations with his big family and traveling to new places. He had a special love for the mountains of Tennessee and the Painted Desert. His fun loving personality, integrity, and friendliness earned him respect and admiration from his friends and customers alike. Pete's infectious smile and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone, who were fortunate enough to meet him. Pete had a great love not only for his immediate family, but his church family, and his devoted pastor; but his main love in life was God. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in DeRidder, La for 40 plus years. He is survived by his beloved children, his grandchildren along with a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him. Their dad's memory will forever live on in their hearts, as he instilled in them the value of hard work, dedication, resilience, and his passion of living for the Lord. Pete is also survived by two brothers and one sister. Pete was preceded in death by the love of his life of 51 years, Olivia "Moosie" Johnson, his parents; Levell and Ara Mae Johnson, and one brother; Lee L. Johnson. As we remember, let us remember the wonderful life he lived and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
