Mary & Joseph Catholic Church ~ Valparaiso, Nebraska Louis Rodney Blazek passed away peacefully at his home in Valparaiso, Nebraska, on May 13, 2025, at the age of 74. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Rod grew up in Valparaiso, a place that always remained close to his heart. He loved his family and friends, his cats, his lawn, and his garage—each reflecting his care and love in its own way. Rod dedicated his entire career to Goodyear, where he worked for 30 years. A master craftsman and meticulous woodworker, Rod's attention to detail and pride in his work left behind not just beautiful creations, but lasting memories for those who knew his talents. A man of faith, Rod was deeply involved in his Catholic Church community and an active member of the Sons of the American Legion and The Knights of Columbus. He was a generous soul, supporting his church and numerous charities quietly but consistently, always thinking of others before himself. Rod was predeceased by his father, Louis W. Blazek and his mother, Adeline R. Blazek. He is survived by his two children, Chad (Karen) Blazek, and Jamie (Mike) Zemcik and his grandson, Mark Zemcik.
