The best grandma that ever lived! Services Held Here Monday For Mrs. Walz Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Baptist church for Mrs. Lulu Walz, 69, a lifelong resident of the Vermillion vicinity, who passed away early last Friday in Dakota Hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Walz suffered a stroke almost exactly three years before her death, and had been in somewhat failing health ever since. Mrs. Walz was born on a farm northeast of Vermillion on October 26, 1887. She attended Clay county school, Vermillion high school and the University of South Dakota preparatory school. For several years before her marriage she taught in Clay county rural schools. She married Henry A. Walz at Vermillion June 2, 1910. Mr. Walz passed away in 1932. Mrs. Walz was a member of the First Baptist church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Degree of Honor, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Women's Relief Corp. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Sigurd Anderson of Arlington, Va., Mrs. Dorothy Graham of Mitchell and Mrs. Glen Farmer of Columbus, Ga.; two sons, Robert and Richard, both of Vermillion; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Fowler of Vermillion, and eight grandchildren. The Rev. Eugene Todd officiated at the services. Burial was in Bluff View cemetery under the direction of the Frank M. Olds Funeral Service. Pall bearers were Ernest ………….
