Bio

-m-8-29-1958 Pauline Anna "Dana". Kenny Sargent, 84, passed away on June 28, 2006. Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 N Cloverdale Rd, in Boise. Born on Dec 4, 1921, in Oakland, Iowa, he and his parents, Lemual and Maria and brothers Lloyd and (O. D.) Den moved to Caldwell, Idaho soon thereafter. Kenny attended Caldwell Schools, graduating from Caldwell High School in 1941. Kenny was very active in Caldwell High's "41 Club" for many years and always enjoyed the group's luncheon get-togethers and reunions. As a 2nd lieutenant, earning his pilots wings in the Army Air Corps in World War II, Kenny was selected to fly the P-38 fighter planes. During the Battle of the Buldge, his plane was shot down over Belgium and he was immediately taken prisoner by German troops. Over the six months as a POW., Kenny was marched from Belgium to a camp on the North Sea, deep in German territory. He was liberated by the Russians at the end of the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. Kenny returned to Boise, enrolled and graduated from the Links School of Business. He also maintained his pilot's license for many years and flew the back country of Idaho for both business and recreation. Through the years, Kenny worked for Bradley Field, Lessinger Plumbing, and longest for ComAirCo, from which he retired in the mid 1980s. In 1942, Kenny married Betty Jo Mill. They divorced in 1957. Connie and Ron are their children. In 1959, Kenny married Pauline Dana, R N, and enjoyed their years together, recalling fondly fishing vacations to the Campbell River in Canada with family and their friends Fern and Bill Bailey of Boise. Pauline preceded him in death in 1991. He is survived by his son, Ron and daughter-in-law, Andrea of Boise: daughter, Connie, and son-in-law. Jim of Ozark, Mo.; brother, Den and sister-in-law, Iola of Caldwell, Idaho; two nephews, Rand (Portland, Ore.), and Steve (Boise); as well as by Dana family members, Lillian (Los Angeles, Calif) and Ella Peterson (Boise), and his close, long time friends.
