Edna Freemon Foster, 86, of Maryfield Nursing Home in High Point died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1993. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Mrs. Foster was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia, and was a life long resident of Greensboro. She taught in the public schools prior to owning and operating her private kindergarten for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, a charter member of the Rachel Caldwell Chapter of the D.A.R., a member of the Historical Book Club of North Carolina, and a charter member of the Greensboro Opera Company. She was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Wallace Groome Freemon Sr., and A. Lee Foster. She is survived by her daughter, Edna Freemon Helms of Winston-Salem; one son, Wallace Groome Freemon Jr. of Greensboro, three stepdaughters; one brother, William C. (Bill) Sparrow of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the residence of the son, 706 W. Cornwallis Drive, and following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 N. Greene St., Greensboro, N.C. 27401; to Groometown United Methodist Church, Groometown Road, Greensboro, N.C. 27406, or to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
