daughter of George and Nora Voltin Services for Rosemary Voltin Cox, 75, were held at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Midland with Monsignor Droll officiating. She grew up as an only child in Mexia, Texas. Rosemary was a full-time volunteer, with a special love for the staff and children at Coleman High School. She was a long-time member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Rosemary attended the University of North Texas from 1953-1957 where she obtained her B.S. in Home Economics and was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Ray Cox in 1958, in Waco, Texas. She and her family moved to Midland in 1966, where she resided at the time of her death. Her husband of 49 years preceded her in death in January 2007. Rosemary was a kind and giving person who enjoyed spending her time doing things for others and volunteering with various organizations in the community. She was an Altar Society member at St. Ann's Catholic Church, and was also actively involved with the local chapter of the Kappa Delta Alumnae Association. When her sons were in school, she was a Cub Scout Leader and an active member of PTA. She received an Honorary Life Membership for her involvement with PTA in 1974. She continued to receive numerous awards for outstanding volunteerism from Midland ISD, including Grandparent of the Year. She also volunteered at Midland Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the 20th Century Study Club, Midland Society of University Women, Petroleum Industry Wives Association of Midland, Midland Association of Retired School Personnel, and the Foster Grandparent program at Coleman High School. Surviving are her sons; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her companion, "Puppy", whom she rescued years ago.
