A celebration of life for Peggy Sue Griffith, 69, of Whitehouse, will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Green Acres Baptist Church in the Galilee Room with Rev. Bryan Grant officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Peggy passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Tyler. She was born September 18, 1946 in DeQueen, Arkansas to Rubert W. and Polly Ann Alexander. Peggy was an active member of Green Acres Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and active in mission ventures around the world. Peggy was a cosmetologist for 50 years. She was an avid seamstress, gardener, reader, traveler and loved to play games. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harvey Dee Alexander. She is survived by her loving family including children Samuel Cory Griffith and wife Lisa, Sheryle Kuehl and husband David and Susanna Stephens and husband Chad; grandchildren Aaron Griffith, Autumn King and husband Jake, Andrew Griffith and wife Stacey, Alyssa Moss, Zane Moss, Kimberly Stephens, Seth Griffith, Luke Griffith, Riley and Shyrah; great-grandchildren Matthew Griffith and Cheyanne King; siblings Ann Spence and husband Bud and Ginger French and husband Chris. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Stephens, David Kuehl, Kevin Blair and Aaron Griffith.
