Nannie Orene Fleming, age 87, of Crestview, Fla., was called from this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, from the North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Fla., on Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998. Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. W.D. Fleming; and by a son, Billy Ray Fleming. She was born in Laurel Hill, Fla., on May 14, 1910, to James B. and Henerietta Barrow Madden and had been a lifetime resident of the Northwest Florida area. Mrs. Fleming was a devoted Christian, and as the wife of a minister was a dedicated and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an outstanding homemaker who taught her family by a godly example. She was a member of the Clear Springs Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, J.B. and Barbara Fleming, and Wilburn and Carolyn Fleming, all of Crestview; daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline Hadden of Laurel Hill, Eva Horry of Bluffton, S.C., Betty and Bob Worsham of Orange Park, Fla., Shirley and Glenn Nielson of Pensacola, Fla., Faye and Robert Dallons of Techachapi, Calif., Lottie and Fred Reed of Laurel Hill, and Linda and Howard Henderson of Pensacola; sisters, Lorene Fleming of Crestview, Trudell Clary of Milton, Fla., and Bonnie Coleman of Galveston, Texas; 31 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of nephews, nieces and cousins. A time of visitation will be conducted at Whitehurst Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of Whitehurst Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Paul officiating, assisted by the Rev. Edwin Vickers. Interment will follow in Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview. Active pallbearers will be granddaughters; and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ministerial Association. Floral tributes will be accepted at the funeral home. Arrangements and services under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Home, 436 W. James Lee Blvd., Crestview.
