Mrs. Virginia A. Tuggle, age 67, of Winfield, died Tuesday, October 11, 1994. Mrs. Tuggle was a native of Lamar County and had lived most of her life in Winfield. She was an active member of the Winfield First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Council of Ministries, Administrative Board, and a member of the Agappe Circle. She was a 1944 graduate of U.S. Public Health Service, Washington, D. A., former employee of various Bank in North Alabama, retired as an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance Company. She was a past officer and volunteer with the Alabama Kidney Foundation, a member of the Ladies Auxillary, American Legion, charter member of the Modern Literary Club, and a past member of the Winfield Park and Recreation Board. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eula Moore Abernethy and one brother, Dr. Frank Abernethy. She is survived by her husband, Chester Tuggle of Winfield; son, Tim Tuggle; daughter-in-law, Wanda Tuggle; granddaughter, Anna Virginia Tuggle; grandsons, Brad and Drew Tuggle, all of Decatur; daughter, Mrs. Teresa Wilson; son-in-law, Daniel Wilson; granddaughters, Amanda and Meredith Wilson; grandson, Matthew Wilson, all of Hoover; sisters, Mrs. Ann Burns of Charlotte, N.C. and Mrs. Beulah Hill of Sulligent. Funeral services Thursday 2:00 p.m. from the Winfield First United Methodist Church. Rev. Tim Barnes will be the officiating minister. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Burial in Heritage Memorial Gardens with Miles Funeral Home of Winfield directing.
