Bio

Arthur Lee Stapleton, of Onalaska, died March 4, 1992 in Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Mr. Stapleton was born October 20, 1908 in Whitewright, Texas to Elbert W. Stapleton and Fannie Davis Stapleton. He married Hazel Cox in Cleveland, Texas, January 2, 1957. Mr. Stapleton was the head of security for 20 years of The First City National Bank, a Police Officer for River Oaks Police Department, a Funeral Director for Heights Funeral Home from 1939 to 1949, and a member of the Onalaska Baptist Church. Mr. Stapleton moved to Onalaska after he retired in 1980. Mr. Stapleton is survived by; wife Hazel Stapleton of Onalaska, Texas. One living son, One daughter, Martha Jo Chandler of Dickinson, Texas. One sister, Elba Scott of Denison, Texas. Two Grandchildren, Two great grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday, March 6, 1992.
