Bio

Historical information According to Lewis of Warner Hall book, Robert was named in his father's will, but has been completely lost from sight. Pioneer Lewis Family lists Robert receiving from his father's will "lands in Culpeper and Orange counties, also land whereon I now live purchased of Giles Tompkins and Thomas Hill, and my lot in Fredericksburg joining the Court House No. 2...tract of land on Glady Run, purchased of John Waller and Ann, his wife." Robert Lewis received a land grant in Orange County, North Carolina, in 1770. Robert was named in the will of his brother William in Orange County in 1793. It is possible that Robert's son Zachariah pre-deceased him, which would explain the lack of a will in 1803. His mother's Find A Grave notes that Robert had gone West and all contact with him was lost. Son of: Major John Lewis, Sr "The Honest Lawyer" and Anne Lewis Lewis (m 1745) (The Aunt of Meriwether Lewis) Brother of: John Zachary, Nicholas, Jane, and Mary. Husband of: Anna Wheight Lewis (m 1770) Father of: Zachariah Lewis
