Frankie R. Hite, 94, of rural Parsons, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her home. Frankie Rose Ware was born on November 9, 1930, to Omer and Pearl (Wilson) Ware in Altamont, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in rural Altamont, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1948. For a number of years, she worked as a receptionist at the hospital. An excellent cook, Frankie was known for her hot rolls and peanut brittle. She loved camping, especially the trips she and her husband, Bob, took to Beaver Lake. Sewing and gardening were also favorite pastimes. On August 5, 1950, Frankie and Bobbie Ray "Bob" Hite were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1996. Survivors include: One son – Gayle Hite and his wife, Phyllis, of Parsons, Kansas One daughter – Roberta O'Dell and her husband, John, of Fort Scott, Kansas Four grandchildren – Amy Nichols and her husband, Ben; Jeff Beckwith and his wife, Cheryl; April Babarovich and her husband, David; and Travis Hite and his wife, Erika Ten great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband; and two sisters, Pansy Small and Grace Spencer. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m., at the Mound Valley Cemetery in Mound Valley. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
