Joe Don Holland, 87, of Huntington, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Huntington Health Care & Rehabilitation, in Huntington. Joe is under the care of Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas. Services for Joe will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 2:00 PM at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, with Brother Jordan Bryan Officiating. Burial will follow at Linn Flatt Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the United States Navy. Joe Don Holland was born on October 4, 1937 in Angelina County, Texas to Joe Miller Holland and Ollie Donnell Holland. He attended Huntington school, When he was 17, he joined the United States Navy and served on the destroyer the USS Gurke patrolling the Formosa Straits at the end of the Korean War. Joe traveled the world while in the service and remained in touch with his fellow shipmates. After he left the Navy, Joe worked for Mobile Oil as a merchant marine before returning to Angelina County where he retired from Abitibi Paper Mill after 32 years of service. He married Betty Morton and had 3 children: Joe Don, Jr., Martha Lynn and Donna Jay Holland. He married Glynda Perry, and they had Myles Patrick Holland. He was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by wife of 52 years, Glynda Joyce Holland, parents Joe Miller Holland and Ollie Donnell Holland, brother Robert Holland, grandson Cody Joseph Holland. Survived by: Sisters: Patsy Holland and Nancy Roman of Huntington. Son: Joe Don Holland, Jr. Daughters: Lynn Randolph and husband Greg, Donna Ross and husband Scott Son: Myles Holland and wife Elizabeth Grandchildren: Rachel Westbrook, Jesse "Buddy" Hutto, Loren Holland, Hunter Holland, Sydney Ross, Bailey Ross Great grandchildren: Cody Case Holland, Cassidy Benton, Fenley Westbrook.
