Julia Faye Kellum (née Cernoch) was born on August 28, 1957, in Terrell, Texas, to Rudolph John and Tulla Jewel Cernoch. She passed away on February 14, 2025, surrounded by her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews—everybody who loved her most. To the world, she was "Julie". To her husband, she was "Darlin'"and "My Bride". To her kids, she was "Mom", "Momma", and "Mother". To her grandbabies, she was "Grammy". To her siblings, she was "Boo". To all of us—she was everything. Julia's life was built on love, loyalty, and a whole lot of good food. She found joy in the little things—wind chimes, bluebirds, bumblebees, ladybugs, feeding her deer, and never missing a good bingo night. But above all, she loved her family. Her husband of nearly 47 years, Paul, was the love of her life. Her three kids have more "Momma stories" than they can count, and her five grand babies were her greatest treasures. She was kind, giving, gentle, and never met a stranger. She showed much of her love through home-cooked meals and handmade quilts. She enjoyed random conversations, singing along and dancing to familiar tunes, and a lot of laughter whether it be on long road trips or a simple ride to the local store. If you knew her, you had a favorite "Julia Recipe"—Grammy's fried chicken, candy ketchup, Cornish hens, or flautas—where the food was good, but the company was better. For 30+ years, she stood by Paul's side after his accident, all while raising three kids and making sure nobody went without love (or a full belly). She gave everything she had to the people she loved, and we were all better for it. She will be missed more than words can say. But she will be remembered—in the meals we cook, the quilts that keep us warm, the stories we tell, and the love she left behind. We know you're home now, and you've sent your final SOP. We'll see you when we get there. She was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph John Cernoch Sr., her mother, Tulla Jewel Richardson Cernoch Grubbs, and her sister, Sara Anne Wright. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Douglas Kellum; her children, Jimmie LeRoy Kellum (Dianna), Jennifer LeAnn Brewer (Mark), and Alisha Gayle Kellum; and her grandchildren, Austin, Abilene, Jacalynn, Conner, and Jackson. She also leaves behind a sister, Lucie Dianne Armstrong (Keith); her brother, Rudolph "Rusty" John Cernoch II; and brother, Charles Michael Cernoch (Debbie); and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and close family friends. A Celebration of Life for Julia will be held at 5:00pm, on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell, Texas. Obit From Max Slayton F. H. Terrell,TX.
