Mary E Howard was born Circa 1857 Arkansas. Documents on Samuel Hudson shows he married Mary E. (Howard) Collins on March 19, 1891 in Pope County, Arkansas. To this union were born the following children: Lillie Maggie Hudson Baker Hester "Hessie" Hudson Sumners Partain Speda "Speedie" Emaline Hudson Brock John Samuel Hudson In the 1900 Census she was married, born Feb 1857, Arkansas, birthed 5 children and 3 were still living. Although the census taker wrote 3 were living, there were four of her children listed in the census; Lillie, Hester, Speedie and John Hudson. Mary E. Hudson was last documented in the 1910 Census in Pope County, Arkansas, with two of her children, Speedie Emoline Hudson and John Samuel Hudson. Her date of death is unknown. She is probably buried in the Brock Cemetery, Piney, Arkansas where her husband, Sam, and children Speedie and John Samuel Hudson are buried. Research notes: In the 1870 Census the Howard family was living in Jackson County, Arkansas. They were as follows: Hester Howard age 45, female, born in Arkansas * Jackson Howard age 22, male, born in Arkansas Robert Howard age 19, male, born in Arkansas Mary Howard age 13, female, born in Arkansas *I believe "Hester Howard" is Mary's mother, as she named one of her daughters Hester Matilda (Hessie) Hudson born February 7, 1893.
