Services for James "Jay" Walding, 80, of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey and Foster Chapel with the Rev. Butch Lockard officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mr. Walding died Sunday (July 6, 2008) at Palestine Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 1, 1928 to John and Johnnie Lewis Walding. Mr. Walding was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Walding is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hardin and husband John of Mineola; sons, Jerry Walding and wife Joy, Larry Walding and wife Pam, and David Walding and wife Denise, all of Palestine; sisters, Evelyn Armstrong of Jacksonville and Gwendolyn Morris of Houston; brothers, H.M. Walding and wife Lou of Greenville, and Gaylon Walding of Palestine; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons and niece.Condolence calls will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Bailey and Foster Chapel before the service.
